These Ham & Cheese Pinwheels are a favorite at our tailgates. They have all the flavors of my Hot Party Ham Sandwiches rolled up in flour tortillas. They are great or parties, tailgating, or a quick lunch. I usually double the recipe because they go fast. Whip up a batch tonight and they will be ready for all the big games tomorrow and Sunday.

How To Make Tortilla Pinwheel Appetizers

These Ham & Cheese Pinwheels are super easy to make. Start with some softened or room temperature cream cheese. Mix in some diced ham, swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, brown sugar, and a little onion powder. Once everything is mixed together, spread it on some tortillas and roll it up. I like to let the tortillas sit the refrigerator 30 minutes to an hour before slicing. This gives the cream cheese time to firm up.

  • I used the large burrito size tortillas. Feel free to use any size tortilla you have on hand.
  • You can also use whole grain, gluten-free, or spinach tortillas.
  • You can also use low-fat or fat-free cream cheese to cut down on the calories.
  • Can Ham & Cheese Tortilla Pinwheels be made in advance? You can absolutely make these pinwheels in advance and refrigerate until ready to serve. Prepare the tortillas and wrap them in plastic wrap unsliced. When ready to serve, remove from the refrigerator, and slice. They will keep a day or two in the refrigerator.
  • Can tortilla pinwheels be frozen? Yes! You can assemble the pinwheels and store them in a freezer ziplock bag. The pinwheels will keep up to 2 months in the freezer.
  • Use Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce for a gluten-free filling.
